PRINCE2 was the initial abbreviation for the PROMPT II IN the CCTA Environment, but later on, it came to be referred to as PRoject IN Controlled Environment. This is a type of certification that focuses on the project management techniques and concept and is managed by Axelos. Axelos does not handle it directly; it gives several ATOs the charge of handling the examination regarding its scheduling, payments, venues, etc. An individual certified with a PRINCE2 certificate is equivalent and can obtain jobs that are specified for the PMP certification. The PRINCE2® practitioner certification exam is of 150 minutes long or, to be exact, two and half hours duration. Being an open book examination, the PRINCE2 practitioner examination can appear with the help of the PRINCE2 manual. For the PRINCE2® practitioner certificate, a minimum of 55% marks should be scored, which accounts for 38 correctly answered questions out of the total 68 questions.
Whereas for the PRINCE2® foundation certification examination, only 60 minutes are provided within which the candidate has to answer a total of 60 questions and get at least 33 right (55%). This is a closed book exam.
Responsibilities of a PRINCE2® Certified Professional:-

- The individual must schedule a regular meeting for the purpose of keeping a check on the progress of his or her team and maintain a formal record. Here the various problems, shortcomings, suggestions regarding the project may be discussed and solved.
- The PRINCE2® certified personnel must be a guide to his subordinates and tutor them on the principles of project management for the better handling of the project.
- As the project manager, he or she caters to the time, budget, quality, etc., of a project.
- As the team manager, they are responsible for the smooth and efficient working of the team and their orientation towards the project goal.

- The whole team or only the certified professional may play the role of the senior user. As the senior user, he or she has the responsibility to assess the quality of the product from the point of view of the customer and that the team strives to achieve the best quality possible.
- As the executive, the project management specialist must take custody of the project.
- The project support must assist the team as well as the project manager in the handling of a project.
- The change authority holds the right to accept or deny any client-based changes requested with a short period of notice owing to the time provided, budget, workforce, etc., factors.
- Team managers are persons or a single individual that handle the various team. Project managers and team managers are different when a single project is handled by various teams simultaneously.
- The users play the role of customers where they use the end product or result and give constructive criticism about the said product to the team and the head. The benefits and features are all formulated according to their needs and requirements.
- Suppliers play an important role as they provide the building blocks for the team to work on and deliver the target.
PRINCE2 certification is one of the oldest certifications that deal with the handling of a project in an organization. And organization may appoint the certified personnel as the project head/manager or a team member as the case may be. The certification exam can be achieved with self-study aided with credible PRINCE2 training.
